Happy New Year!

I hope 2009 finds you all healthy/happy! Good news on the family front for us. My mom has officially gone into remission! She is finishing her chemo this month (the oncologist says even thought her PET scan shows no cancer, stopping chemo in the middle of treatment is like stopping antibiotics in the middle of it course!) Makes sense so she has one more round after the one she in taking now. God has truly blessed her yet again! My stepfather, Doyle, is recovering from his procedure for an aneurysm (sp??) so they are doing great!

I am back at school, and am trying to work in my newest resolution...hiking! I love to walk/hike and somehow it has gone on the back burner. So Bill and I have committed to find places around AZ that we can take the RV to on weekends and do some day hikes throughout the year. I am also getting some girlfriends (and Bill!) together to hike around here on the weekends.

Happy Holidays!

Wow! How did 2008 fly by soooo fast? Bill and I had the whole family over for Christmas. Here's a quick family update before I go on. BTW, this is a first for me...I'm a complete novice blogger!

Austin is in his own apartment now (with our nephew, Ian). He is trying to find full time work; it's hard out there! He is still in the Navy Reserves. His goal is to start up college and get into a nursing program. Ryan is home and still attending ASU West. He is going for his business degree...should be done by 2009. Bill is busy as usual with his company, Ryan Austin & Associates, as well as community service. He is currently the V.P. of the Washington Elementary School Board! I am enjoying these few weeks off school (teach 3rd grade at Alta Loma Elementary)...where did the first week go????

So, back to Christmas. All were here Xmas eve; brother, Mike, Ian, my mom and step dad, Ryan and Austin. We also enjoyed having our friend, Mark, and his son, Ben. We love this time together. Had a wonderful Christmas luncheon the next day; invited our neighbors and Ian's mom, Julie. Lots of laughter! The only thing missing were Bill's sisters, Randi and Cathy, and his dad. Sickness prevented them from coming.

Bill and I are looking forward to 2009! His sister, Cathy, is going to be joining RA&A, so it continues to be a family business.

Until I blog again......Jackie
